If you've been waiting for the price of electric cars to come down before you take the plunge, now might be the time you've been waiting for. The Financial Times reported recently that the supply of electric vehicles (EVs) into the UK used market had increased significantly in recent months with the inevitable result that prices of battery cars have dropped - in some cases so much so that the electric versions of some models are now cheaper than their internal combustion-engined counterparts.

So what are you waiting for? Well maybe range is an issue for you: if you use your car in such a way as to make it impractical to have to be stopping to charge up every 150 miles, maybe electric isn't for you. And if you're not one of the 56% of UK households who Fleet News recently estimated are lucky enough to be able to charge your electric car at home, the purchase price of your car might be just the start of the pain: charging up away from home can be up to ten times more expensive, according to a recent Which? report.
